Our backdrops are
handcrafted, textured photography surfaces, 100% made in Sri Lanka.
Each piece is individually textured, hand-painted and finished to create beautiful, realistic surfaces that complement your food and product photography.
Our approach
About Rataa backdrops
Each backdrop starts with a sturdy 5–6 mm Wooden board. We create the texture using a custom texture plaster, followed by hand painting using different types of paints such as acrylic and oil paints, depending on the design.
Each surface is then finished with a matte polyurethane coating to make it water-resistant and stain-resistant while maintaining a photography-friendly matte finish.
Production Time
Most of our backdrops are made to order.
- Standard production: 3–5 working days
- In-stock items: Dispatched within 24 hours
- Rush orders: Available upon request, depending on production availability
We ship Islandwide!
Delivery
We usually deliver through Domex Courier, which generally takes 1–3 working days depending on the destination.
For urgent orders, we can also arrange PickMe Flash same-day delivery, subject to availability. Delivery charges are calculated based on the location through the PickMe app.

Pick Up
Orders can be collected from our studio in Yakkala, Gampaha District.
Due to the size and rigid nature of our backdrops, they cannot be safely transported on motorcycles. Please arrange a three-wheeler, car, van, or another suitable vehicle for collection.
